Children of UKG took part in the School Awareness Week which was conducted from the 13-6-2022 to 16-6-2022. Theme based activities were held for children over the five days to involve and make the children know about their environment and to be aware of their rightful needs. On the first days, children made colourful posters displaying messages on save water and water animals, save plants and trees, my rights. The second day was an audio-visual awareness on child safety- making children aware of ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’. Children were taught to protect themselves from strangers, from people whom they were not comfortable with. How to seek help, inform the teacher or parents. Third day, children took part in role play to create awareness on save forest. They enacted a story to show the importance of the forest and all the animals and birds that live on trees. On the fourth day, children learnt to make bird feeds. They used friendly materials such as cardboard boxes, popsicle sticks, made attractive shapes and filled with grains, that could be hung in the garden on branches for birds to come and feed on. On the fifth day, they made and wore badges depicting all the activities that was done during the awareness week. Children enjoyed all the activities that was conducted and became aware of the importance of nature, their needs and safety.
