INTRA SCHOOL COMPETITIONS Grades IV- VII

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.

 Extra-curricular activities are a vital element in any child’s development. They set endless opportunities for students to learn new skills outside the standard framework of educational curriculum and also broaden the social skills.

The month of July unfurled the feeling of competitiveness in one and all. The INTRA-SCHOOL COMPETITIONS conducted for the Higher Primary students were a fusion of talent, imagination, creativity and alertness that helped bring out the uniqueness of each participant.Spontaneity and confidence were the hallmark of the competition. The students left everyone awe-struck as they presented their talent immaculately and effortlessly.

ART-connects what words cannot

 The budding artists showcased their visual art skills and uncovered their natural talents by sketching and colouring in a Drawing competition organized for the students of Grade 4 on the 9th of July 2021. The topics given were-                           

 Stop Coronavirus / Save Environment

 The Children were completely engrossed in the art work and expressed their aesthetic skills and emotions brilliantly.

EXTEMPORE – THE SPEAKERS’ FORUM

We groom the students to sharpen their critical thinking and problem solving approach.

In order to engrave in each child, the ability to think off the feet, self-confidence, a clear sense of Grammar and pronunciation, and an advanced level of conversation skills, Public Speaking activities are conducted every year.

Extempore competition was held for Grade 5 students on the 9th of July 2021. We had many eloquent, young orators who gave impromptu speech on topics given to them on the spot.

 In order to have the students directly experience the power of a masterfully crafted language, Declamation competition was conducted for Grade 6 on the 13th of July, 2021. Students presented their powerful speech during the Competition. It was a close contest as all the participants spoke with a lot of  conviction to reach the pinnacle of success.

The speakers reinterpreted the original vehement speech of  Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam reproducing its power, with zeal and enthusiasm.

          

     ESSAY WRITING- We can because we know we can

An Intra- School English Essay Writing Competition for Grade 7   was successfully conducted online on the 9th of July 2021 between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM. The students had one hour to themselves to provoke their creative and imaginary thinking skills for the topics that they had chosen. The competition paved the way for many students who wanted to showcase the ‘writer’ in them.

The Judges were impressed by the outstanding English Language skills of some of the students, their distinctive style, their fluency and originality.

The students also distinguished themselves as exemplary narrators, sharing vivid images, deep emotions and perceiving the world around them in a mature manner. The competition did encourage many other students who showed lesser interest in the same.

The following were the topics given:

  1. Contribution of technology in education.
