To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel for the functioning of the administrative body, a school cabinet was formed at Lawrence High School. On the fine morning of 3rd
July 2017, deserving young leaders of our School were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their School from the front. The Investiture Ceremony thus marked the inauguration of the Junior and Senior Student Council for the academic year 2017-18.
The Principal, Mrs. Sujatha Nagraj addressed the newly elected council members. Congratulating them, she reminded them that they are the torch bearers and their actions would represent the school and urged them to take up their responsibility with commitment and integrity.
The Vice Principal Mrs. Rajeswari Anand Kumar and the Head Mistress Mrs. Rajeshwari Chalam presented the captain and the vice captain respectively. The House Mistresses and the other house members presented house captains and vice captains respectively. They stressed on the school motto ‘Dream and believe, learn and achieve’.
Our Chairman Mr.P.M Subbaiah awarded the badges to the captains and vice captains. With the vigorous beats of the drums and the band playing, the new council members marched in procession up the aisle and on to the stage. They stood upright with their heads held high and their hearts in humility as each picked up their precious House Flags. The School Captain Thammaiah T.P, Vice Captain Chandrashekhar Vyas, the Sports Captain Riyajul Ali, the Captains of Taxila House- Riya Nanda, Nalanda House – R.G.Reeithu, Mithila House – Charan.C and Magadha House – Syeda Razeenah carried the School flag, Sports flag and the House flags respectively. The captains and the vice captains of Junior cabinet accompanied them.
The student council took the oath of office and the members of the council pledged to adhere to the values and principles upheld by School and to live up to the expectations. They were congratulated by our Managing Trustee Mrs. Pushpa Subbaiah through her motivational words. She has given wonderful insights on how to become a good leader.
An energetic and message-filled song about leadership by the School choir lightened up the ambience.
