SPORTS DAY JUNIOR
“If all the year were playing holidays ,
To sport would be as tedious as to work”
_ William Shakespeare
How true this is, and to relieve the tension, play is a must.
Pre-primary sports day was held on 26-11-2016. An invocation prayer was followed by a march past by the entire U.K.G. The Chief Guest, Shri Jitender Joshi hoisted the flag and announced the sports meet open. Addressing the parents, Shri Joshi emphasized on parental skills and challenges faced by the parents in today’s world.
Two lively displays by L.K.G and U.K.G children won the hearts of the spectators which were followed by “fancy races” of all the three sections,(Pre-KG, L.K.G, U.K.G ).
All the races were brilliant, colourful and innovative. Pre-primary children displayed their sporty spirits. The winners were encouraged with medals and certificates.
The second half of the Sports day for Grade I and II began at 1.30 pm. The chief guest for this session was Dr.Shaibya Saldanha, a gynaecologist & founder of Enfold. After the declaration of the sports meet open the guest took the stage to say a few words to the students. The March Past began almost immediately. The uniformity of movements was pleasing to watch. This was followed by the mesmerizing display by boys & girls of grades I & II.
The various fun events added to the glorious day. The track events had the crowd on the edge of their seats with vocal support from the House Members and the spectators. The steal of the show was the Teachers’ event and the Parents’ event. The day ended with the vote of thanks. . It was indeed a day to remember.
